Meet Berat Aydin- Huboo’s Business Development Manager in The Netherlands

What is a typical working day at Huboo like for you?

A typical day at Huboo starts with a warm welcome. Even ‘coffee before anything’ people greet you and wish you a good morning.

From there, it is helping people as best you can. Clients knock on our door to know how we can help them. So, I listen to them carefully and discuss with them how Huboo can enable growth and contribute to their success.

I often visit my dear colleagues in the warehouse. Not only to ask how some of my favourite clients are doing, but also to know how they are doing too. At Huboo, we like to create win-win situations for all across the workplace.

As the entirety of Huboo is one ship, I try to help my colleagues as much as possible as well. Being the captain of a team, means helping new colleagues get up to speed and providing seasoned colleagues with food for thought.

What did you do before working at Huboo?

Before Huboo I worked for Centralpoint as an account manager, one of the top IT resellers of the Benelux. In my department, we worked with tenders and very large accounts.

What attracted you to working for Huboo?

Logistics is something that I’ve always been interested in. I felt at the end of my learning curve with Centralpoint and Huboo presented the opportunity for an entirely new experience. When I heard it would be a start-up with an incredible future, it sounded like an adventure I could not refuse.

Outside of work, what are your passions?

Outside of work I like to spend time in my garden and drying my own tea leaves.

However, what I love most is investing time in my own charity. I help 30 orphans together with my friends. We come up with projects and then ask for donations in our direct network. My dream is to bring this charity to such a level, that I can help not just thirty, but hundreds of children.

What skills do you need to be a great Business Development Manager?

First and foremost, you need to be sympathetic person. At Huboo, you are helping entrepreneurs reach their full potential. So, understanding someone’s motives is key to success for both Huboo and the seller. This means you have to be a good listener, show compassion and be resourceful.

What’s your favourite movie and why?

Pulp Fiction. I like how everyone is at the wrong place at the wrong time and how their decisions decide their fate in the end. 

What advice would you give someone who is considering working at Huboo?

We are one big family at Huboo. Not only colleagues, but our clients are also part of that. My advice would be to have an open mind and be as flexible as possible. Thinking of solutions and having a strong will to overcome challenges are things that describe our attitude well.
